Today I am switching up a bit and joining in with Thankful Thursday hosted by Rhondi at Rose Colored Glasses Visit her for more inspirational grateful heart posts!
Today I am thankful for so many things....
~~For my God, who loves me inspite of all of my shortcomings, and delights when we visit each day.
~~This amazing sunset!! As I drove into my neighborhood after being too long in WalMart, very tired and just not feeling well in general, this is what met me!!
I sighed, took a deep breath, and in my heart whispered, "Thank you Lord".
This is the same sunset, I just couldn't fit it all in the shot
~~I'm thankful for God's tender loving care, and how He meets my needs so fully and at just the right moment. Who can resist a Savior like that?
~~I'm thankful for my darling , lovable, manly man husband who God gifted me with way back in sixth grade. Who would have ever thought I'd marry "Stringbean", my sixth grade crush?? God knew!!
~~I surely cannot leave this out...I'm finding a deep sense of connection in the community of Christ that God has blessed me with through this thing called a "blog" . Even in this blog He is meeting needs I didn't know I had.
Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow!!!
Have a lovely, joy-filled day!
Blessings,
Becky
Becky:
ReplyDeleteI am so touched by your post and especially by your observation of how blogging fills a need in our lives. I feel so much the same way.

Good Thursday morning to you Becky.
ReplyDeleteI love the post for today. We do have so much to be thankful for. We (I) take so much for granted. I ask you to pray for my family. My mother called last night after church to tell me that my daddy's brother found out yesterday evening that he has cancer. It's already spread, so the prognosis is not good at all. My daddy's heart is broke, as well as my uncles family. They had a rough year last year, their daughter passed away unexpectedly.
I know you'll do this for me, and I thank you in advance. I cannot tell you how thankful I am that our paths have crossed. God bless you dear lady! (my families last name is Gentle)
Love,
Liesa
What an inspirational Thankful Thursday post! Loved it! Have an awesome day!
ReplyDeleteBecky, welcome to Thankful Thursday! It's great to meet another Floridian! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I could just "amen" all of your comments. Isn't God the best? He is so awesome to me! This year I have been focussed on something I learned as a little girl. In the Presbyterian cathechism, there is a question: What is the chief end of man? And the answer: The chief end of many is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever! I find great comfort in the fact that we were created to fellowship and ENJOY and PRAISE the Most High God! I get so much joy in glorifying God, and He is a joy to me! This online blogging community is great in that we have company in that enjoyment! :-)
So glad you joined us! Reading this was a blessing to me.
XO,
Sheila :-)
Oops! Make that the "chief end of MAN" and not many. Typo queen rides again! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your post today! Love hearing all your thankful for! I so agree with you on the blogging community. My friendship with you and my other blogging friends has meant so much to me. It has filled a void I KNEW I had, just didn't know how to fill it!!! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Becky your pictures are just beautiful!!! I think I enjoyed the same sunset last night. Even though we are hundreds of miles apart, last night was just so lovely. The whole sky was pink and everything had that warm glow...just before the sun set. I called my daughter to see and we both just stood in awe. I just began to thank God for His gifts to us!!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful this Thursday! Thanks for sharing

I loved reading your thankful list. It is so uplifting to hear what people are thankful for and to think of all the things I am thankful for. I know thankfulness leads to a contented life:) I have learned that from my dear husband.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing that when we get our eyes focused on the King of Kings everything else comes out BLESSED?! Your post is a great reminder of that today. Thank you for sharing and for the reminder that all is well when He is in the center!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful sunset photos. God has truly blessed us all.

ReplyDeleteThis post really speaks to my heart! The pictures are breath taking and I love your list of things you are thankful for. I am also being blessed by the connections God is making for me in the lovely Land of Blog!:)
Another gorgeous, sweet post Becky. A lovely read and beautiful pictures too. And I want to add what others have already said - I am sorry I can't be more original - but I am thankful for you, and your inspirational posts, and our paths having crossed in cyber-space. You have blessed the lives of me and my family - and for that we are all thankful.

I absolutely love sunsets also... thank you for this post, and the lovely pictures
ReplyDeleteHi, I left you a little something at my blog just in time for Valentine's Day!!
ReplyDeleteHI BECKY. HOPE YOUR THURSDAY WAS WONDERFUL!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU FOR THE SWEET NOTE. AS FOR MY LAST NAME, YOU REMEMBER IN THE 70'S, KIDS WOULD GET JERSEY SHIRTS WITH THEIR LAST NAME ON THE BACK OF IT? WELL, I REMEMBER THAT I HAD A WHITE ONE WITH ROYAL BLUE NUMBERS AND LETTERS. EVERY SINGLE TIME I WORE THAT SHIRT SOME WHERE BESIDES MY HOME TOWN, I WOULD BE ASKED IF "GENTLE" WAS AN ADJECTIVE OR MY NAME. I'VE ALSO HAD TO SHOW PEOPLE MY DRIVERS LICENCE BEFORE THEY'D BELIEVE IT TOO. ANYWAY... AS FOR MY UNCLE. YES, HE'S SAVED, SO THAT'S THE MAIN THING. IT'S JUST ALWAYS SO HARD TO SEE OTHERS SUFFER. MY DADDY IS THE ONE THAT'S ABOUT TO KILL ME. HE'S TAKING IT SO HARD. HE HOLDS IT IN, BUT YOU CAN JUST SEE THE HURT ON HIS FACE. (I AM A DADDY'S GIRL) MY DADDY LIVES UP TO HIS NAME! HE IS A 'GENTLE' MAN.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND FOR ALL THE ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUNSHINE YOU BRING INTO MY LIFE. WHAT ON EARTH DID I DO BEFORE BLOGGING? SAKES ALIVE!
HAVE A GOOD NIGHT.
PS. I READ THE BLOG OF THE BABY. I FEEL SO BAD FOR HER FAMILY. DO YOU KNOW THEM PERSONALLY? WE HAD A BABY AT CHURCH THAT SPENT THE FIRST YEAR OF HER LIFE IN LEBONHEUR HOSPITAL IN MEMPHIS, TN. THAT WAS SO HARD ON HER FAMILY. BUT, SHE'S STILL ALIVE. HER NAME IS SAMANTHA. SHE'S A DOWN SYNDROME BABY, AND WAS BORN WITH 2 HOLES IN HER HEART. SHE HAS ALOT OF COMPLICATIONS AT TIMES, BUT THE DOCTORS REALLY DIDN'T GIVE THEM ALOT OF HOPE. SO, GOD DOES ANSWER PRAYERS! THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE WITH HIM.
I love th sunsets...So beautiful and you are right, they are a gift! Let me know when you put your "Cooper" on the blog....Melinda
ReplyDeleteoh such great things to be thankful for--today I am oh so thankful my *blood counts* are returning to normal---and most of all thankful that I KNOW I am going to heaven one day.
ReplyDeleteDeby
Becky, what a wonderful post on thankfulness. Isn't it fabulous to be the apple of God's eye and to rest in the shadow of His wings?

OH, Becky! That sunset was a true gift from God since you made it through your trip to Wal-Mart and back!! I'm thankful for you!

Hi Becky...thanks for the visit & the comment. My sons & grandsons are huge nascar fans too & we are lucky to live w/in 15 minutes (on a non-race day) of Texas Motor Speedway so they go to nearly every race.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing you in Tablescape Thursday.
Gods creation is stunnily captured in your pictures.
ReplyDeleteThankyou for sharing..
