TGIF!!! I'm ready for the weekend!! Hurry on over to Kellis for more show and tell!
Today I'm sharing favorite things that make my kitchen a happy place for me!
This little rooster is a tealight holder that I love and often light while preparing meals. The little heart is a pleasant reminder of my Mom...she loved hearts, and it makes me think of her and her inner beauty when I see it!
Meet Jacque and Pierre, my chef buddies!! I found them in two completely different places, and they are one of those things I know I will always have.
They make me smile!
Which one do you think is named Jacque?
Did you guess correctly?? Jacque came along after Pierre, and I'm so glad I found him!
Did you guess correctly?? Jacque came along after Pierre, and I'm so glad I found him!
This is Pierre, my first chef love!! The original Pierre came to an untimely demise after hitting the tile floor. YIKES!! After an exhaustive search here, the new Pierre continued to elude me until destiny took me to North Florida to visit my sis. There I found him, the last one on the shelf, just waiting for me!! Imagine my joy!!
Many of you know I have a thing for birds, well I have a think for pretty glass bottles, too! Here are some that are next to the chefs over the stove. The fish one is from Italy and is a recent find when "junquing" (I couldn't just spell it the other way in the presence of the chefs!)

On the opposite side of the kitchen, another bottle filled with colored water, a little rooster, and a couple of florals I put together
Moving to the right on the same shelf, a chicken or rooster (IDK) I just love it because it is covered in olive branches, a very old window, rise and shine plaque, another bottle and a faux fruit basket I put together

Hi there Becky! I love the bottles...I have just in the last year started collecting bottles. As of now they are collecting dust in the pantry.

Dearest Becky - Jacques and Pierre are wonderful - you will have to come to Europe now since you are clearly part French!! I also adore your little hen tea-light. My mother-in-law (a marvellous lady of 86 who we lost 18 months ago to cancer) kept hens at the farm, which my father-in-law tends now. Hens are always a reminder of her for me, and you are sending me away this evening to my bed with wonderful thoughts of her in my head again. You are a wonderful blessing to those who read your posts!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday, and a wonderful weekend Becky!

ReplyDeleteLove your kitchen, I could take some of your things and they would go perfectly in mine.
ReplyDeleteI love all your roosters! I have them in my kitchen too. I want one of those chefs! Ours it Matt K. the Dewalt guy. I never watched the race, while working traveling, we let the crew off one day and they and Hubby went to Rockingham,NC for the last race there. Hubby picked Matt that day just for Dewalt. I watched a little of the race that day, to see if I could post all our guys, Yeah right. I learned fast. Now I watch most of the races with him. Go Matt! lol Never in a million years would I have thought I would be doing that! lol Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog. You sound like you are such a wonderful person! I want to go to Cross City, FL so bad, friends there. My SIL is going to Destin in March with her grands, wants me to come, but I have enough grands here and then there my doc visits. Oh Well

Everything goes so perfect together. Great decorating. I really got the feel of it all.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed looking at your kitchen items. I got the names reversed in guessing which Chef was who. We are not big on racing, but my son's fav driver is Earl Jr. Also my brother loves to watch racing also, but I am not sure who is his fav driver. Not only is the HGTV Dream Home in our area, so is the Infinieon race track.
ReplyDeleteI really like all your roosters. Especially the tea light one ;o). Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteKaren

ReplyDeleteOkay one more post. I live just a few hours drive from Las Vegas. Every body is getting ready for Nascar down there. It is really an important event. You don't want to be looking for a hotel room during Nascar. We made that mistake a couple of times. So I will look forward to your pics. Deb
