JOY FOR OUR JOURNEY MONDAY

THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE; LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT ~Psalm 118:24

How does this new morning find you? Are you happy, content, on top of the world, or tired, sick, feeling overwhelmed? Did you want to throw the covers over your head and stay in bed?

Well, it is my prayer this morning, friend, that however you feel, however difficult your circumstances may be, or how heavy your heart, that you will be able to find a glimmer of joy in today.

We have been given the gift of TODAY!! Today is a fresh start, a clean slate, a new page to be written upon in our lives, and we hold the pen. What will you write on your clean page?

I am still learning that more often than not, I choose what goes on each page, if not by what I've done...by what I haven't done, mishandled, or by a less than desirable attitude.

My cold is in my chest now, I don't feel well, my home is in dire need of attention, I have reorganizing projects left half done, and have all the normal daily duties, including homeschooling my sweet daughter yet to accomplish.

Honestly, I am feeling somewhat overwhelmed. But overriding that is the knowledge that TODAY IS A GIFT, and I can choose to focus on the not-so great stuff or choose to find the good in it. I choose the latter!!

So take heart, and be encouraged, and go out and make it a great day!!

With love,
Becky

  1. Thanks for this post, I was in need of it. I'm having some problems with my neck, and I feel sort of yucky. Your post was what I needed! I hope your cold gets better! Have a blessed day, enjoy the gift!

  2. Good Morning Becky! May your day be filled with "sonlight."
Your post reminded me of a saying I heard at camp as a teenager.
"Face the Son, and all the shadows will fall behind you."
I'm praying you feel better soon.

  3. That's right...how we react to circumstances in our lives will reflect greatly on our day. I need to choose joy over someone stealing my joy! Great post. I look forward to your Monday's Joyful Journey! Hope you're feeling better soon and you get some housework done...I know how that feels!!

  4. What a wonderful post Becky - it is so easy to lose sight of gratitude (especially first thing in the morning.) I hope you are feeling better soon, Baby Kay (Amelie) is on the mend finally and will soon be back to her old self (DV).

And in the meantime I hope you are getting as much positivity out of reading other blogs and sites as other people get out of yours! Don't try to do too much while you're not 100% well, dear one.

    Blessings to you all

  7. Oh Becky, I am so sorry you are not feeling well. I hate when I am sick and not able to do what I need and want to. You were so sweet to stop and leave me a comment. I really appreciate it. Hope you are up and about 100 percent soon!
