What’s This I See?

Can you see it?  Look at this photo.  It’s just out there in the distance.

No…not the guy walking…or the fishing pole sticking out of the sand, silly….

Out there where the sun is rising on the horizon…

Yes!  There it is!!  The first new day of the New Year 2010!!

WOW!!

A new day…PRAISE YOU LORD!!

A new year…THANK YOU LORD!!!

So, sweet friends, I’ve just been wondering…

What are your thoughts on this New Year we have all been blessed to behold??

Here are some of mine.

~~~~I am going to strive to live more deeply.~~~~
This past year the roots of my faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my trust in the truth of His Word have grown so much deeper, and I have to say, it is WONDERFUL!!  Abiding in the Vine…there is NOTHING on this earth that can compare!!  It is my heart’s desire to see these roots continue to deepen as I commit this New Year and all it holds to the Lord, and seek to walk in His ways.
~~~~I am going to strive to love more fully.~~~~

“A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”  John 13:34

Oh My!!  I do love people, but man they can pluck my very last nerve…you know what I mean right?  What would Jesus say??? c’mon…you know what He says. Say it with me…

LOVE them ANYWAY.   As He has loved me???    He died on the cross for MY SIN so I could LIVE with Him throughout eternity, and I sometimes can’t even handle petty annoyances from the people around me?
I will endeavor to do a better job of  loving others as Christ loves me.

~~~~I am going to strive to give more freely.~~~~
…“Freely you have received, freely give” Matt. 10:8
I have received unspeakable JOY, LOVE, PEACE, GRACE, MERCY, STRENGTH, WISDOM, GUIDANCE,AND TENDER LOVINGKINDNESS from my heavenly Father.  I will never be able to give as He has given to me, but I will leave this earth one day having given it my BEST shot!!
SPEAKING OF “shots”…I read this quote the other day on someone’s blog and LOVE it!  Great one for the new year!
“100 % of the shots you never take will never make it in.”   ~~Wayne Gretsky
What are you gals shootin’ for in 2010?  do tell!!
Remember, I am committed to praying for you all, so you can always email me any requests you might have.  holidayinthesun_1@yahoo.com  I do consider it a privilege to bring your requests to the throne of God!!!
May God draw you each close to Him in this New Year and may you find Him to be your ALL IN ALL.
Loads of Love!
Becky
Oh Yeah!!  And…
HAPPY NEW YEAR, YA’LL!!
  2. Happy New Year Becky! We are indeed very blessed.
    I am going to strive to take better care of myself...inside and out. I am going to strive to "make someone's day" more often. Even if it is just telling them a joke and making them laugh. Strive to balance, speak positive in the midst of difficult situations, laugh and relax when all of life is full of stress.
    I am going to strive to write more.
  8. Happy New Year! How close do you live to Disney? We'll only be there for 3 days but I'm sure I'll have time to get together with you for lunch or something. We'll be in Siesta Key the rest of our trip (a couple days before Disney and after Disney).
    Let me know! We can plan it for the next several months, LOL.
    Definitely I want to focus on my spiritual life this year, it seems like it always takes a back seat to whatever else is going on in my life and that has to change!
  14. Hi, Sweet Becky!
    I read a post earlier on my friend Mollye's blog, and it said something about trying to be forgiving with ourselves when we don't feel we measure up and not being so hard on ourselves when we miss the mark. That sounds like a good idea to me. I think I will try doing that. Sometimes it seems I hold myself to a higher standard in things that I do, and I think I am going to give myself a break this year. God sure does. I want to be as good of a friend to myself as I am to others and as God is to me. Does that make sense? I hope so! :-) I think it will make me happier and an even better friend to others.
    I am going to try and continue to dwell on those things that are lovely and to enjoy God's company.
    And that's what's going on in this neck of the woods. Hope you are well and that your New Year is blessed of God!
    Happy 2010, my sweet friend...
    XO,
    Sheila :-)
  23. Morning Miss Becky,
    How are you this fine cold day?? Did I mention it is cold??? lol
    Hubby says it is all that global warming!!
    I think he must be right, don't you??
    Especially since it has done nothing but snow everywhere since that global warming conference. I think the Lord has a huge sense of humor!! lol Vermont got 33" of snow yesterday! Poor People!
    I didn't wake up till 9 this morning and I was covered with animals. Joey was under the covers with me and Molly was laying on my chest. too funny! I was afraid to move when I woke up because I might have a dog/cat fight right in my lap!! lol
    Well, I have been visiting blogs, finally some posts from Bonnie, so good to hear about her trip, now I gotta get some breakfast and start packing up this +mas stuff so Jim can take our tree down tonight.
    Well, have a good and warm day.
    Love ya gal,
    Nellie
