I am a stay at home Mom and have been for…well…
forever, it seems!
There truly is nothing I’d rather be doing
than tending to the needs of my
family and our home. {and making pretty things!}
God has enabled me to stay at home, and blessed the
commitment we made before we got married to keep me
at home, taking care of everything here.
Of course, if He required it, I would do otherwise,
but to my delight, He has not.
Some may view my role as insignificant and obscure, but I am
only concerned about what God has to say about it!
The family is one of two institutions He created;
the other being the church.
So the way I see it, what I do is pretty important to Him!
It is my desire that my heart and my days be filled
with what matters most to Him, so that He can say of me
what he said about the woman who spilled out her expensive
perfume and anointed His head with it…
That I have done a good work for Him.
I honestly wouldn’t trade my life for anyone else's.
I have been blessed beyond what I could have ever imagined!
And there is nothing like knowing that I am
exactly where He wants me to be!!
May your day be filled with little JOYS!
Love ya!
Becky
Right there with you Becky! I feel the same exact way. There is nothing more important than family and faith. If one didn't have those two most important things what would you really have in life. Nothing.
ReplyDeleteHere's to a FAB weekend dear!
Love and hugs!
Karffee
Thank you for that!! Sometimes motherhood seems so mundane and unimportant - until I look into the little faces of my children!! I too have been blessed incredibly!!
ReplyDeleteMany joys to you today as well!!
Christine
i needed to hear this today. i stayed home when my girls were little and didn't go to work until they were in school. i worked for the next 14 years and just quit 1 year ago.
ReplyDeletei feel guilty sometimes for not working, but realize that God has a very important job for us women at home. even when our kids are grown.
i needed this today Becky. thank you!
Hi Becky,
ReplyDeleteWhatever way the LORD uses our lives and the blessed rolls HE allows us to walk in is an amazing opportunity to honor and GLORIFY HIM.
I pray all is well with you sister and your family. I hope you received my message in response to you about your question on florida blog lunch.
I will be off line until Aug 8th. Love ya!
God is good!!! Thanks, Becky.
ReplyDeleteThanks...from this at home mom of 27 years I love this reminder. The world has said that I should work out of the home and our financial situation would also scream that, but God had put on our hearts my place was at home with our six children...and it is work!
ReplyDeleteI want to be here and I am thankful, even if it has meant a lower lifestyle I feel very blessed.
Thanks
Amen Becky, me too, I raised 5 without going to work outside the home, when your heart is where your home is then your home will be your heart. Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh Becky I so needed to hear that today too!
ReplyDeleteI might need to bookmark this post and reread it every now and then!
HOLYKISSES DEAR FRIEND!
XOXO
Lea
YOU GO GIRL!!! I AM SO WITH YOU!!
ReplyDeleteI ECHO EVERYTHING YOU SAY, AND WOULDN'T
CHANGE ONE MINUTE OF IT.
IT HAS BEEN ONE BLESSED LIFE AND CONTINUES TO BE.
THANKS FOR BEING BRAVE ENOUGH TO SAY HOW YOU REALLY FEEL IN THIS UPSIDE DOWN SOCIETY WE LIVE IN. OTHER LADIES REALLY DO NEED TO HEAR THAT CAUSE
OUR SOCIETY TRIES TO MAKE US FEEL LIKE WE HAVE NOTHING ON THE BALL,IF WE ARE NOT WORKING OUTSIDE THE HOME.
HOPE YOU HAVE HAD A GREAT WEEK HON,
BLESSINGS, NELLIE
I love that application of the verse here. I was reminded on another blog recently (It was Goodbye House; Hello Home) that all that we do, including our homemaking is an act of worship and should therefore be treated as worth our emphasis and effort.
ReplyDeleteI also feel called to be doing exactly what I'm doing. I also LOVE it. I pray that He will look at me and say, "Well done."
Right there with ya, girl!! I have loved being an at-home mom and a homemaker. I know there are many in my realm who think I should be looking for a job now since money is so tight and since our homeschooling days are over (child #2 just finished up...can you believe he's that old now!). But, truly, making my home a haven for my family IS my job. I love it, and that is where I want the bulk of my efforts to go.
ReplyDeleteIn today's society, being home is looked down on, like it's a brainless, unimportant thing to be doing. But, as you said, God says otherwise...and HE is the one whose opinion really matters.
Have a wonderful day, dear friend.
Love,
Patti
Beautiful! Agreed...this is our greatest task as mothers.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Lilly
You are truly blessed and highly favored.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Hugs,
Tara
I feel the exact same way!!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning dear Becky, I have been MIA and missing your blog. Life has been so busy. I love my busy life but I miss my blogging friends as well. Time on my computer has been such a problem of late. Please know I always think about finding time to visit. You are more than a blogging friend Becky. I consider you my dear friend.
ReplyDeleteYour post today is beautiful and so are you. Your faith is an inspiration to me and others.
I read your previous post and loved it so much. Maddy is beautiful and I know your visit to your niece was so special. My grandson is engaged to a sweet girl named Maddy. She is a redhead too. A darling girl. The 'Traveler" is awesome art. I have been in that airport many times. I lived 15 minutes from it which was great for all the company we would pick up there. Yes, My life was just as busy in Kissimmee. I was know in Kissimmee as the Bed, Breakfast and every other meal by my neighbors. Things haven't changed much. HA!
Blessings and love to you dear friend,
Jeanne
Who can find a virtuous woman? I love Proverbs 31
ReplyDeleteverses 10-31. You are a perfect example of these verses Becky.
I pray to be a woman worthy of the Lord.
Being home with my three girls was more important to me than what the world thought. I have NEVER regretted being a stay at home mom and wife.
I work at a pharmacy now that everyone is grown with families of their own.
Too bad our society tries to make women feel guilty for being where they should be...with their children!! Knowing we are not here to please man, but to please GOD is such a blessing.
Thank you for sharing this today Becky. I'm sure your boldness has encouraged many women.
God Bless You!
Debbie@houseatthelake
Thanks so much for saying this. I love being a stay at home mom too, and I'm so thankful that I can be. What a wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Marcia
Thanks for visiting...and yes, I still do crafts. Just wish I had more time. All my projects are temporarily on hold. I need an eighth day in the week!
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a beautiful week!
Lilly
SAHM's were the *norm* when i got married, now we all know what a blessing it is to be able to choose to be. we didn't have the latest and the finest always, but we never regretted our decision. :)
ReplyDeleteI say a hardy "Amen" to that. I feel the same way:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, Becky. You are always such an inpsiration, and I love your dearly.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
