I have always considered myself to have a rather
"eclectic" design style. That is until I came upon
FARMHOUSE STYLE!
It encompasses everything I love...
slightly (or not so slightly) worn, weathered wonderfulness,
mixed with incredible textures, and vintage goods
that just ooze with character.
My first look at this design style was on a favorite blog
of mine Raised in Cotton. Carol''s eye for
beauty just stuns me continually, and her home and photos
are like a warm, sweeping breeze on a sunny day.
Here is some of the beauty she surrounds herself with...
Her wintering 1800's Farmhouse
I have used this image as my desktop background, Carol!!
I love these old jars and have gotten a few for myself!
Her amazing kitchen!
Vintage goodies everywhere!!
AND flowers too!
Love her farmhouse table!
~~sigh~~~
colored glass...be still my heart!
Carol's style is so comfy and serene. Don't we all just need
a little more serenity in our lives?
She and her hubby are transforming their 1800's farmhouse,
and I am definitely loving it all!
I am not a chandelier type of gal, but Carol's use of chandys
in her home is soooo lovely...I might be convinced otherwise!
If you love this, you'll find more at her blog!
She truly is sweet and has inspired me in a BIG way!!
Thank you for letting me share your photos, Carol!!
YOU ROCK!!
The bloggy changes I have spoken of previously are still coming,
Lord willing! Believe it or not I have yet another health issue
to deal with, but I still want to follow through and get
my online shop...
YES YOU READ CORRECTLY...
my online shop up and running.
{{I am sooo excited}}
Thank you to all of my prayer partners out there...
I know you will have this all covered for me!
~~smile~~
Have a blessed week, sweet friends!!

ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the farm house style is lovely and charming. It sings to me too!. I sure hope you get better soon...(((hug))).
How wonderful for you to start a on-line shop, it would be really fun for you..
Thank you for visiting me! I love it when you come for a visit.
You take good care of yourself o.k. I wish I lived close to you I would come right over with some good old fashion chicken soup that cures everything!.
Hugs,Elizabeth
Oh no.
ReplyDeleteOh dear...
I know that I'm going to have another blog to love if I click to that blog, but I'm clicking anyway. I LOVE her style!!!
I, too, am sorry to hear of a health issue so I'll join your prayer warriors in praying you to health AND toward your online shop.
The photos are gorgeous...especially those lilacs, a flower I know doesn't grow in Florida.
ReplyDeleteAn online store? Can't wait to hear more about it. Gary and Garrett have an online store...on Etsy. They do woodworking---their big seller is drop spindles. Did you know people actually spin their own yarn? LOTS of people according to our Etsy sales.
Anyhow, sorry to hear about a health issue. I will become again what I once was to you...a prayer warrior. Remember all those times you, Evie, and I prayed together? SUCH wonderful days that I miss alot. Anyhow, I'll be in prayer for you.
Love,
Patti
What beautiful photos! I see why you love her style. So very pretty and simple. I am so sorry that you have another health issue. I will keep you in my prayers. How exciting to have your own shop blog. I look forward to seeing it! Blessings to you dear friend. Elena
ReplyDeleteOh I love this post, and it sure is my taste too, the photos are gorgeous, hugs my friend, Barbara
ReplyDeleteI so love that style! What fabulous photos. I am going to visit Raised in Cotton. I have never been able to label my style. Whenever I am asked what my decorating style is, I always reply that it is a bit eclectic.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what treasure you have in your shop. Will be praying about that and your health.
Warmest regards,
Tracy
My sweet Becky..
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness.... Of COURSE I'll be praying for you. Thank goodness we serve a healing God!
Loved the pix. What a clean and fresh look! It's so much fun to see other folk's decorating styles, isn't it? I love peeking.
Take care of you!
Lovies and Huggies,
Spencer AKA Cupcake :-)
Hi Becky! Oh, thank you for sharing photos from your blogging friend. I will have to go over and check her out! I too love her style!
ReplyDeleteI hope you've been doing well and I appreciate you popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Yup, that's my style too! I know there is style somewhere under all the dust!
ReplyDeleteYou take care girl!
Oops, forgot to say - sure, go ahead and use the 'act old later' pic (you could link it back to me so we could trick people in visiting me!). I try to follow that unless the knees, back and feet are all acting up on the same day, then I feel old!
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteFarmhouse style is just wonderful and the examples you showed were beautiful. So sorry you have another health issue to work through but we are over halfway through the year and next year is bound to be better! Can't wait to hear more about your on line shop, very fun!
Valerie
Oh my, what lovely pictures... SO, when can I move into that place???
ReplyDeleteEverything is so pretty, so warm and inviting. Carol sure has a knack for decorating...Christine
ReplyDeleteBecky, this is a lovely shout out for Carol. You know I have forgotten about her blog and I too just love her farmhouse decorating.
ReplyDeleteOh Becky I pray nothing is serious about this health issue. You are always in my prayers my dear friend.
Love and hugs with blessings to you today,
Jeanne
Well, who knows, you MAY get a call from me one day, saying I'm in town. Not sure if you know this, but we are hoping to move back that way.
ReplyDeleteLong story (too long for a comment), but think Prodigal Son. We realize how blessed we were and how much we long for home. We miss family. I can't handle winter. And we long for the ocean. So...we're hoping to relocate back there.
Yes, I am sure you miss Sam a ton. Is she married? Are the other girls nearby?
And, yes, God is so good and fun to reconnect us this way. I think of you often, as I have the sunflower swag you made me hanging in my kitchen, so I often think of you when I look at it. I've grieved that we lost touch, so it's nice to re-connect.
Love,
Patti
PS if you'd like you can email me....thinkingsouth@q.com.

ReplyDeleteLove Carols planked table with more modern chairs. That's really cool!
I'm a chandy girl but I'm quite chandyless. Hopefully someday, I'll find one out thrifting.
My favorite thing: all the purple glass. I too collect antique purple glass bottles and jars. Her collection is fantastic!!!
