Flyin’ High!

Maddy got to take her first flight last Thursday!

WOOHOO!!

Her being excited about her boarding pass!

I could not believe this when I saw it!  This guy is in the Orlando airport
right next to the security check.  I walked all around this box certain this was a guy faking being asleep.  He even has veins in his legs! But the sign under the box says it is a bronze sculpture!!  Can you believe it?  They got even the last little detail down;  EXCEPT BREATHING!  He is appropriately named
“The Traveler”.

We had a short but wonderful flight…much better than the 6 1/2 hour drive!

Maddy on board!  We sweated getting a window seat, but were able to snag one!

Taking it all in!

Friday we set off for the Econfina Creek and Springs!  There are several springs along the creek, and each one is beautiful and different!

Andy and Maddy were in the kayak and me and my sis were in the canoe.
We worked up a sweat, but the springs are 72 degrees year round so cooling
off was not a problem!

Andy’s truck loaded up!  I LOVE old trucks, and he keeps his so nice!
The water is really this color closer to the springs!  The creek is a bit brackish but is still clear.  I’m not positive, but I think it is the mineral content of this water that makes the colors so pretty.  My skin is so soft after swimming in it.

This is me with a mask and snorkle watching the water flow from one of the springs.  The little cloudy funnel is just sand and cracked shell being moved through the water by the spring.

The lower left photo is the larger spring that was coming out of several different rocky areas.  Very lovely and tropical!

Andy up above on a wooden walkway snapping photos;  lovely cascading fern;
little fishies that nibble your ankles…some of the larger ones it is more than a nibble! And me and my fab sis!!  I guess I’m looking at Maddy!  She was snapping at the same time!

We had such a nice stay!  We also got in some thrifting, Hob-Lob, Michael’s, Chili’s, a great Asian Buffet, and some fun time with this little cutie and his Mom, my niece, Tammy.

This is their second son and fourth child!  What a sweetie!!

It’s great to get away and especially to have time with my sis!
We are doing something we have never done this fall…we’re planning a sister
getaway, and I think our destination is Destin, FL!!!  YAY!!!   Can’t wait!

It’s also good to be home, and back with you, my sweet friends!
I will be visiting you over the next couple of days!  {smile}

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Spread some JOY, OK??

HUGS,
Becky

  11. Becky,

Wow, it has been forever since I have visited you and I do apologize. I have been very distracted from the computer with life and all that entails. Jim is retired now...one month tomorrow and we have not had a minute to be bored yet.

We have been gone most of the month and just got home late Monday night. I am still doing the laundry and putting clothes away but I am almost there.

I will be home all next week by myself as Jim is going on a high adventure trip with the boy scouts at church so that will give me lots of time to rest and get catch up with my own posts, commenting,
etc. Just had to say hi though!

I am so happy that you got to go and visit your sister and her husband and that you got to take Maddie too. Your destination looks so beautiful...where is it?

I visited that site you mentioned (Teresa)this morning and it is really neat. I added her to my blogroll so will follow her now.

I am so glad you got good new from your hubby's doctor. You have had a really trying year, health wise. God bless you sweet, Becky! You and your family are always in my prayers. How are you surviving without Emily? Good I hope!

    Love to you...Bonnie

  12. Hey Sweet Becky! I just hate I wasn't able to meet you while in Florida. Next time I come, I will have a vehicle of some kind of my own!!!
I am so thankful to hear you had a good doctor's visit. I said a prayer that day for you.
Also, thankful that you and Maddie went on such an awesome trip. Looks like a little piece of Heaven. Pics are great!
Glad to be back home, maybe we can meet up another time in the future.
    Hugs,
    Tara

  15. You know that feeling that you have described about being on the beach? Well, THAT's the feeling that I get in the type of surroundings in this post. I LOVE the sense of being around still water. This would be my picture of paradise.

I love all of the pictures.
The fact that you added a precious baby at the end is the cherry on top. I'm so glad that you and your pretty Maddy had a wonderful time!

  22. I know I've said this before, but I am thrilled beyond measure that we have found each other through blogging. You were a VERY dear friend for so many years, and it always grieved me that we lost touch. I have this box of cards that I've saved through the years, and there are many from you in there, so whenever I would look through that box and find a card from you, I would be sad that miles and years separated us. How GOOD God is to let me find you again!!

Anyhow, thank you for your prayers for our move. When you think about us, think Prodigal Son. Like that young man, we were blessed beyond measure, but we didn't appreciate what we had when we had it. Truly, when we desired a small climate change, we had NO IDEA what that would mean. I guess, we figured it would be like Florida, just a little cooler. We had NO IDEA how difficult it would be for us to adjust to 7 or 8 months of cold, windy, gray, snowy weather.

All around me, people are complaining about the heat, but I have vowed not to do that anymore. I'll take heat over cold ANY day. At least when it's hot you can find relief under a shade tree or in a pool. when it's cold, the only relief is INSIDE the house...so I barely go outside from October through May!!

Anyhow, my dear, have a wonderful day. And remember me to you dear hubby.

    Love,
    Patti
