Thankful Thursday~~Furry Family!!

Lynn at Unequal Marriage hosts this Thankful Thursday. Hope you will stop by and see what other grateful hearts have to thank God for today!

I don't know about you, but I cannot imagine life without my furry family members!! God really blessed us with three amazing pets!! They have all added so much joy to our home!!! Allow me to introduce them to you!!!

This is Penelope...we call her Penny for short. She is a 3 yo Rat Terrier we bought from a lady in Daytona, and weighs 12 pounds. She is the fastest dog I have seen in person, and is incredibly agile! She is extremely obedient, and such fun to play with.

If you put your hand toward her to pet her she immediately rolls over so you can rub her belly!!

I love this pose! So very dainty!!

Then there is "CRITTA" He is a male seal point Siamese, and along with his stunning good looks, he loves to chase a laser penlight, and play with Penny.

He often jumps up on the chair behind me when I'm on the computer and starts "necking" with me. It is too cute and completely irresistible! He hasn't been brave enough to jump in and play with both the dogs yet.

And finally we have Cooper, who most of you have seen already. We rescued him from a shelter in North Georgia last April, and he is the most wonderful dog. He was going to be euthanized (I'll share the whole story on another post)
and I am so glad that God moved in both my heart and Randy's to make the trip and save him.

Cooper is a Bearded Collie, which is an old British herding breed. He weighs 50 pounds, is medium sized and is the sheer delight of our family and all who come in contact with him.

My hubby likes to pull him up onto his side of the bed in the morning to give him some lovin'. I snapped these yesterday a.m. Randy pulled the covers up over him and he just stayed there! Too cute!!

What is really funny is that he totally has my hubby's temperament! People even say he looks like him.

What more can I say? Thank you Lord, for the gift of these wonderful pets in our lives. Thank you for creating them, and for blessing our world with the wonder of animals we can safely keep in our homes and love!!

PURE JOY!!!

Have you hugged your pets today and thanked God for them??

Have a sunshiney day!!
Becky

  5. Becky,

I agree 100%...there is no way I could go through life without a furry companion. They are my furry, four legged children!
We have a Black Lab named Shadow( We call him Shay) Oh my gosh he is a 90 pound lap baby! He has every member of this family wrapped around his paw. He will not kiss the guys in the house...he gives them the paw for a shake...however...my husband calls him to our bed every morning and tells him to wake me up...and he licks my face until I am laughing so hard...He does the same to my daughter.
We have little Joey...I rescued her mother from an abusive breeder...and gave her to my mother. Her 16 yer old cocker had passed away and she was heartbroken...Anyway...the little dog had 3 pups and Joey is one of them. When I go to visit my mom...I bring Joey to visit her mom.
OH my gosh I better now type a bio on all of our pets or it will turn into a book. I could go on forever about them. We also have 2 cats Annie and Lucy...two cockatiels named Pete and Ollie...and a Russian Land Tortoise named Toby...he eats right out of our hand.

Pets bring so much joy to our home. They never judge you...they live to love you.

    Great post Becky!

  6. Becky, so fun to meet more of your family! I, for one, am so thankful we don't have pets at the moment. I love them, want them, but have concluded that we have plenty of mahem and training going on around here without adding furry friends to the mix!!!

Have a blessed day...you are a blessing to me!

  8. There is no greater love than the unconditional love our pets have for us. My home is no stranger to my other loved ones. 4 dogs, 1 bearded dragon, 2 hamsters, and 2 fish. They all love without needing anything from us in return. Much love in these photos. You can tell how much your pets love you. Your siamese cat reminds me of my first pet as a child. He was a siamese cat also and his name was Frisky. Have a great day. Jaime

  15. We don't have any pets right now, but I would love to be able to get the children a border collie pup in the future. I grew up having all kinds of pets ( cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, white mice, goats and pigs. :) I'd love for my children to be able to interact with animals too. It's therapeutic for anyone. :)

  17. What adorable pictures. I just love my Tobi too. She, on the other hand, doesn't much care for other animals.

I think your CRITTA has been hanging out on my street lately. We have a new cat in the neighborhood that looks just like that. It is discovering what Tobi thinks of it sitting in her front yard. :)

  19. I LOVE your furry babies!!! I'm so glad you showed all of them to us. Thank God you rescued Cooper! He looks completely irresistible. What a beautiful dog. All your pets are just darling. I can see their personality's in the pictures. My home and life would not be the same without all of my babies either. So nice to find others who feel the same way!

  21. Hi Becky- I'm back with a question. I noticed that you have a picture on your sidebar from Sparrow's Song Scripture Tag. Did you have any problem embedding that into your blog? I am having problems with a tag not showing up on my sidebar after I've copied the code in.

    Just wondering...thanks:)

  23. What wonderful pets you have. I miss having dogs but we are traveling so much that it would not be fair to have animals.

Your pictures make me want to run out and find a dog.

  26. Hi Becky!
What beeeautiful furbabies you have! Cooper just stole my heart!
It sounds like your Penelope is a sweet heart but I keep thinking what my vet said once: "The meanest dog in the world is...." a rat terrier with a pistol." (He musta known one meeeean rat terrier huh? lololol Penelope looks too sweet to be mean tho.
We used to have a cat named Aspen that would jump up behind you in a chair and knead your back like bread dough. It felt great!
I loved reading your list of gratitude!
    Have a great weekend!
    Holykisses,

  27. Dearest Becky - what gorgeous little friends you have! My husband grew up on a farm and always had dogs about, but I am a townie and never did. We always said we would get a dog when life settled down for us and we weren't travelling with work, and your post is reminding me to work on him again to see if we can't hurry that along!!

Blessings to you for the coming weekend dear Becky - and many thanks for your very helpful comment on the back-up, it seems silly in retrospect that I didn't understand what you meant! Now it makes perfect sense!!

  28. Your pets are so cute and amazing! It makes me want a dog really bad. I lost my sweet Willy boy, Snauzer mix, in 2000 and I had him for 14 years. Just broke my heart when he died. We are just waiting for Mary to get a little older so she can really appreciate a pet and they can be buddies. I know she will love a puppy as she already is an animal lover. Thank you for sharing another part of your family with us. Love, Elena
