JOY For Our Journey~~The Joy of the Lord!

HAPPEE MONDAY, FRIENDS!!

Shortly after my dear hubby was deployed to Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Storm, I participated in my first group ladies Bible study.

The name of the study was "Joy of Living" and I can't even begin to tell you what it meant to me during that time of my life, and even today.

I grew so deep and so fast that my head was spinning in a good way! I just drank in God's word...and made sure I got every last drop!!

Each time we met we sang this song, and I still find myself humming it today!!
It has a very catchy melody!!

The joy of the Lord is my strength!
The joy of the Lord is my strength!
The joy of the Lord is my strength!
The joy of the Lord is my strength!

He heals the broken hearted and they cry no more
He heals the broken hearted and they cry no more
He heals the broken hearted and they cry no more
The joy of the Lord is my strength!

He gives me living water and I thirst no more
He gives me living water and I thirst no more
He gives me living water and I thirst no more
The joy of the Lord is my strength!

During the war, I can honestly say that the joy God gave me was my strength! No one could believe how well I was doing.

What are you dealing with today?

God wants us all to visit the well often and draw from it the living water, so that we can glorify Him and be strengthened for every circumstance we're faced with.

MAY THE JOY OF THE LORD BE YOUR STRENGTH TODAY!!!

Have an absolutely delightful week!!

Fondly,
Becky

  13. What a beautiful, uplifting post Becky - very timely for a lot of wonderful people who seem to have hit some lows lately. Especially incredible is knowing that you are able to post things like this to help others when things haven't been so easy for you lately. You are amazing - so thoughtful and so kind. Hope those seeds went in a treat and that you are enjoying those lovely veggies before you know it. Might just have to sneak over and swap you some of your veggies for my wonderful father-in-laws eggs - it's that time of the year on the farm again, and the cluckers are laying!!

Have a wonderful, blessed week Becky - love and prayers to you all.

  14. Love this up lifting post! Yes, I had a nightmare with my health. I have not told the worst! Maybe never! I have prayed for God to give me the strength to deal with my health, children, husband. Now I need to ask all to pray for a babysitter for my grandchildren. I can't do it much longer. I go back to doc in 3 weeks and he's going to be upset at me, he told me no more babysitting. My daughter quit her job,( I told her just a little of whats going on now with my health) Then her marriage has taken a down fall. We advised her to go back to work, she in college 2 days a week. We do not know what going to happen, with her marriage. Her hubby did not work almost 3 months. Now they are behind and he may leave, for what he thinks is greener pastures. Have you seen my daughter in her pink high heel shoes? He's lucky to have her. But now I need a sitter for her children, and pray they will get caught up and be able to pay for one. My window is running out. He came got the kids 2 hours early today. I had a lovely afternoon with a book and tea. The case when I comment on the give away, I saw the butterflies, never even thought of my china. In fact, I had gotten my china out before it came, my youngest had a fit, she tried to take it home. lol I had to tell her my story, about the china getting broke. Its been stored away, never used. When the carrying case came, I was so excited, went and got my china, and Yes it was a match! I am still excited! I got to get my give away together, my next post is 100 and its going on it. Blessings!

  15. Thanks for this post, Becky- the scripture, song and your sweet testimony! About four yrs. ago a sweet lady from our church led a Bible study while her husband was in Irag. She brought so many insights to us through what she was going through and I know she was blessed through her intense study.

Meanwhile, her husband (a commander) was leading Bible studies for his troops and we sent Purpose Driven Life books over for him to use and give away. Many came to know the Lord.

"The Lord is my strength and my salvation."

Now I'll be humming that song all day--Thanks!!

    Hugs,
    Linda C

  19. This post touched me because I've been in similar circumstances as you have, and God still showed me that He was there taking care of us even though my husband couldn't be there, and we made it through. It isn't that I rejoiced and was patient in tribulation like the Bible says we should be, just that God loved us regardless of being human and showed us all mercy. Thank you for letting me be a part of here.

  21. Good Tuesday Morning to you my Dear Friend! I so hope I do not hurt your feelings in anyway. I did a little something different to the bunny you sent me. As soon as I saw him I just knew he needed a nest. It seems I see nests in everything these days! I hung the flowers on my french board above my desk.

  27. Just stopped by after visiting Edie at Rich Gifts. The award you gave her was great.

You mentioned the rivers of living water in your post. That scripture is what I have used on my blog from John 7:38 "He who believes in me as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
    Blessings,
    AliceE.

  32. I like the words to that song. I don't know the tune so I can't imagine how it would be sung. If I had some music in front of me to try it out on the piano, then I would know. Then I would probably have it in my head all day. Heehee.
