How Does Your Garden Grow??

It's spring, and time to plant our gardens. As you plant, may I suggest the following rules of green thumb to ensure a bountiful harvest:

Plant three rows of peas:

Peace of mind
Peace of heart
Peace of soul

Plant four rows of squash:

Squash gossip
Squash indifference
Squash grumbling
Squash selfishness

Plant four rows of lettuce

Lettuce be faithful
Lettuce be kind
Lettuce be obedient
Lettuce really love one another

Plant three rows of turnips:

Turnip for church service
Turnip for meetings
Turnip to help one another

To conclude our garden we must have plenty of thyme

Thyme for God
Thyme for study
Thyme for prayer
Thyme for family
Thyme for friends

I do not have the link to credit for this, but it was something I needed to read, so I thought I would share it with my girls!!

The point of it all: We reap what we sow!!

With all the busyness, distractions, uncertainty, and obstacles, we must still always find "thyme" to carefully cultivate the garden of our hearts!!

What is growing in your garden today?

With Joy and HUGS!!
Becky

  4. I love this post! I saw this before, but your gentle reminder is beautiful and much needed. Thanks so much for your comment on my post this morning. A mother's heart is such a dynamic thing isn't it. I am vaccilating between trusting and fear myself as my daughter and sil are bidding on property in Boston that i fear is more than they can afford. I mean if they get it I fear they'll be house poor, then all their hand me down furniture will look yucky in the new digs so they over extend buying new furniture. I know they are bright and they trust God, but I cant imagine starting out in at $350,000 for a condo with a $300 owner's fee when they only have 12,000 to put down. That owner's fee is more than our mortgage. It is a different world! She is 24 and being swept up by the granite and stainless steel! There now that I have unloaded. I'll pray for you and you pray for me and we'll make it through!!!

  15. I just got my hands in the dirt again yesterday, planting some spinach. It felt so good! I've been thinking a lot about gardening - what to plant and how to do it.

Can't tell you how much I appreciate this post! I'm going to print it out and post it on the fridge. These are the most important gardening rules I've ever seen. I need to look at these every day!! Thanks, Becky!
