JOY For Our Journey--Turtle Truth

I'M BAAA-ACK!!

Did you miss me? I missed you, sweeties!!

Boy oh boy!!! Did we have a great time on our
little romantic getaway!! More about that
tomorrow!!

Right now I want to share a little turtle I fell
in love with and brought back home!!

He is handmade of clay and is adorable, don't ya think?

He will fit in the palm of your hand, and has
cute little swirlies stamped in his shell.

Each little turtle came with a tag and an
inspirational message. I picked this guy as
my favorite and then was delighted to
read the message on the tag..

I haven't been very at ease in my shell lately...
trying to lose weight, dealing with the effects of
gravity, cellulite, the notion of putting this body
in a swimsuit....YIKES!!!!

Well, my God knew all of that and wanted to
clear it up for me!!!

What a precious message to receive and pass on!

God knit you together in your Mother's womb,
and beamed with utter delight the day you entered
the world...the crown of His creation...
fearfully and wonderfully made!!

What makes you uncomfortable in your shell?

If it's something within your control...set some goals
and work towards changing it. God will give you
all you need to accomplish it!!

If it isn't within your
control, it's the YOU God had in mind when He
created you and is PERFECT just the way it is!!

Even when I weighed 102 pounds, my upper arms
and thighs were a bit out of proportion to the rest of
my body. Do I like that? Not especially. But the God
of the universe designed me that way!!

How can I not be pleased??

He doesn't make mistakes!!

So sweeties, whatever it is that may make you
a bit uneasy in your own shell, embrace it,
work on it if you can, and delight in the truth that
YOU were a GREAT idea in the mind of GOD
before you breathed your first breath,

And He doesn't do ANYTHING that isn't
PERFECT!!

Blessings and Hugs, Sweet Friends,
Becky

  2. So glad you had a wonderful time on your little get away! Looking forward to hearing more about it and seeing pictures. I loved our visit to St. Simons Island and can't wait to go back in a few years. Love the turtle and the message, but love your message even more! I've been slowly embracing quite a few things in my life lately and realizing that the things I can't change are in my life for a reason and God placed them there. Thanks for affirming that for me!!!!

  4. Sounds like you had a wonderful time being away with your husband, Becky. I really cherish those times with mine too. Even though it is just the two of us at home now it is still special to put ourselves in a different environment away from the routines of life.

I loved your little story and thoughts about being comfortable in our own shell. I have lost nearly 30 pounds since January and weight has always been a struggle for me. But I am beginning to feel comfortable and enjoying the journey of making things as good as I can finally and being content with the rest.

  17. What a wonderful sentiment Becky - how many hours and days and weeks have we wasted worrying about wanting to be thinner, better, taller, prettier - when in truth we are exactly how He made us, and how He wants us to be. Such a gorgeous little guy to keep as a reminder of that! Hope your week went well, and that you are feeling on top of the world and ready for anything dear one. Lovely to have you back x x

I love turtles and frogs and collect them.

It's funny you mentioned not feeling at ease in your shell...neither am I and I am currently participating in the "Beautiful Like Me Project"
My post will be finished on Monday...I hope to hear from others who can relate to how I am feeling...and hoping that we can somehow inspire each other.

    Welcome back dear friend!

  23. Hi ~ Just found your blog from another one you follow; nice to "meet you." I love this post - it's so true .. thanks for the gentle reminder that God created us in His image, and He doesn't make mistakes. The turtle is so cute! My friend's daughter is getting married in Hawaii next year and wants turtles as part of her theme - I'm going to see if we can make some cookies to look like this cute guy!
