God all that the week may hold!
~~~
OK, well I couldn't resist this box with
adorable little Mary Lou Retton on it!!
Remember how she dazzled us all
back in the day?? All right...let's
get to the real deal!!
~~~
There is just nothing like sitting down with
my morning coffee and just gobbling up God's Word!
In Jeremiah 15:10 this is what he says when he
That you have borne me
A man of strife and a man of contention
to the whole earth!
So in his agony what did Jeremiah do?
We find it down a few verses:
~~~
Verse 16
Your words were found,
and I ate them,
And Your word was to me
the joy and rejoicing of my heart,
For I am called by Your name,
O Lord God of hosts.
~~~
Is God's Word "joy and rejoicing"
to your heart?
If not, it can be!!
Too often we get busy with life, and don't
"eat" His Word daily. Then some crisis
comes and we find ourselves desperately
seeking Him.
Well, I prefer plan A!! Begin each day
feasting on God's Word and with
JOY and REJOICING!!
He is already wherever our day will take us,
and will prepare us for what it holds!
DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT????
I don't think so!!!
It says in 2Timothy 3:17 that His Word
completes the man of God, and thoroughly
equips him for every good work.
SO..........................
Be sure to eat the breakfast of champions
(champions of God, that is) each day
and enjoy the sweet victory over all the
things in this life that can so easily
encumber us!!
We need our spiritual food as much as we
need our physical food!!
May your week be full of
JOY AND REJOICING!!
Love and hugs,
Becky
What a wonderful post and a great reminder for us!This is the best way to start every day...
ReplyDeleteAlso wanted to say welcome to our blog~we are delighted to have you join us and look forward to getting to know you better.
Debbie and I are also homeschooling moms. Your comment was so right...it is hard to pick from all the wonderful opportunities we are given but in the end we should do what serves the Lord and our families best.
Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for the kick in the pants that I needed to get back to feasting and the not skipping the most important "eating" of the day. Oh there are lots of excuses we can use-- to busy- have to be here or there... but I NEED it every day!

Have a great Monday!!
Hugs,
Linda
I don't how you do it Becky. But somehow you always know the right verse to get us thinking about life and just the simple day to day rituals that we take for granted. Thanks again sweetie!

Hello dear Becky, I was inspired to read your lovely post today. Beautiful thought for our breakfast morning meal. I enjoyed the Wheaties box cover too. A wonderful memory.
ReplyDeleteMy grands are all back home after two weeks of camping with them and a week with us. What a fun time and a blessing to be sure.
When are you coming this way Becky? I would love to meet you. We are leaving for about 10 days this Friday the 17th. This has been quite a summer of traveling. This time it is to meet some friends in Kansas City and a cousin In Lexington, KY. This is unscheduled, but my hubby's Aunt, well into her eighties, is not well. We love her and need to see her now.
With my grands gone I now am enjoying some time to visit my blogging friends. I have missed all of you so much.
Have a happy day.
Hugs...Jeanne
Excellent thoughts Becky. I love this. I need more breakfast. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteThat is truly the breakfast of champions.
Couldn't agree with you more. This world is always trying to cram us into it's mold for sure, there is just so much to be busy with,
but busyiness doesn't equate to knowing God.
Oh, the need for balance, how to become a
Mary in a Martha world!! Hope you are having a really great Monday,
Love ya, Nellie
Every morn we are in communion with one another ... that is the only way I can get the day started. Lovely post ... TTFN ~Marydon

Thanks for sharing this Becky. We need to encourage each other in our Christian walk, and that's what you've done for me today!
ReplyDeleteOh, just what my heart and soul needed! Thank you! My brother-in-law was just asking me how often I read the Word, and while I do pray all the time, I don't open my Bible enough.
