Sharing Some Valentine Fun and Love!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO ALL OF MY LOVELY FRIENDS!!

I'm a day early, but have a busy day today and tomorrow and may not be able to post!

I said I would show a couple of different ways to decorate with the little heart pins I purchased from Lilly, and here they are.

I found some deep red ribbon, tied a loose knot, pinned on the heart and added a couple of sprigs of fresh rosemary. What do you think? It makes me smile!

Here is the pink cream and pink heart. I just got some coordinating ribbon, looped it and pinned on the heart. It could be hung on cabinet doors, door knobs, dresser knobs...almost anywhere for that special Valentine touch!

It would like so great surrounded by more pink, but my whole house is earth tones!!

I'll probably use two of them on gift bags. I'll post those later!

Last year I started a Keepers At Home girls club. (you can learn more about them here) We have had such fun with these girls, most of whom we did not previously know.

Yesterday we had a Valentine's party here and had a blast!!

Remember these wax and crayon hearts Maddy and I made? I took them from the window and hung them on the chandy for party decor!!

I want to share a Valentine one of the girls made with her Mom for me...what a sweet token of appreciation! And a lot of work!!

The lettering is quilled paper, fine beads adorn the edges, the pink strip is woven across the top, and there are little cut-outs and pop-up hearts, AND the Bible verse Ps 17:17, A friend loves at all times, written out in gold paint pen!

Simply lovely!

My 75th Post!! YIPPEE!!

I still have to pinch myself that I have a blog, and that you like to visit it!! This is just too much fun!! I look forward to my 100th post and a Welcome Spring giveaway!!

I just want to take a moment and share some sweet Valentine yummies I bought from a fellow blogger and crafter named Lilly. (click on her name to visit her blog) I fell in love with these little heart pins the moment I saw them! They're simply lovely and the perfect little touch for a couple of my close friends!! (One is for me!!)

The embroidery is meticulous and sweet!

This deep red is just so....red!! Love it!!

I am going to be doing something crafty with them in a day or so as a Valentine's decor idea for a Valentine Blog Party that Debbie at Cottage in the Country is hosting. Hope you'll join in the fun!

We Did It! Wednesday Example

This is an example of something you can post for We Did It! Wednesday.

We literally did this today because of time issues we ran into! We had a good time making these cute wax hearts, and really liked the end results!!

They are easy, but do take a little more time than I thought they would, probably because of cutting the hearts out.

The picture below shows what we used to make them. The cookie cutters can be found at WalMart and Michael's for around $2.

Martha Stewart recommends using kraft paper but I didn't have any so I used a little better quality gift wrap. Oops...you need a pencil sharpener, too.

You can get the tutorial by going to www.marthastewart.com and looking for Valentine's crafts and decor. Tried to link the page, but it didn't work.

What we used:

My Maddy!!

Made crayon shavings

Ironed them between 2 sheets of wax paper, with gift wrap on top and bottom


Traced cookie cutter heart onto wax paper


Cut out heart


The dynamic duo!!

All finished!! We hung the hearts in the breakfast nook window!

Remember, We Did It! Wednesday is to encourage one on one time with your children, grown children, & grandchildren whether it's a shopping trip, a fun activity, crafts, a game whatever. Just show us some fun and give us some ideas to try with our kids!!

JOY For our Journey--Valentine Joy

I have never made a really big deal out of Valentine's day, but become more enamoured with it each year. I look at it as a special day to spread some extra lovin' and kindness around, and you know I love that!!

I had fun the other day just looking around for cute Valentine stuff. Thought I'd share some of my favorites for our JOY today!

First some chenille love for Roberta Anne This would look cute just about anywhere!! I found it at http://www.terrysvillage.com/

This adorable "ragamuffin wreath" was made by Cindi, a fellow blogger and crafter. Thank you Cindi for letting me include it!! We will be making one of these!! You could change the fabric and make one for any occasion or holiday!

These are so cute and very easy to make. Leave it to Martha! It's just crayon shavings ironed between sheets of wax paper and cut into heart shapes.

Personalize Valentine candy bars by making your own wrapper, and writing a note inside! http://www.bhg.com/ (Better Homes and Gardens) Too cute. One pic I saw somewhere else had a few all wrapped differently, stacked, and tied with ribbon. Too cute!

I should have thought of this!! Just remove tea bag tabs, and replace with heart cut-outs with written messages. Maybe I'd drink more tea if it had sweet messages attached! (Martha again!!)
